About Acrodyne Services

A new company has acquired the inventory, other physical assets and intellectual property, including the brand name, of Acrodyne Industries, Inc. No contractual, financial or warranty obligations were acquired. The new company is named Acrodyne Services, LLC and operates out of facilities in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The main focus of the new company is to provide continuation of service and support for the large base of installed transmitters sold by Acrodyne Industries over its 40 year history, with service also available to transmitters sold by other manufacturers. An extensive spare parts inventory coupled with the necessary technical and manufacturing documentation and engineering expertise facilitate this goal.

In addition to the service and support of TV transmitters, Acrodyne Technical Services also provides:

  • Technical training in the use and maintenance of TV transmitters, particularly focused on techniques applicable to DTV operations

  • Project management and turnkey site services for the conversion or upgrade of broadcast facilities including:

    • Transmitter relocation

    • Equipment conversion – analog to digital

    • Power upgrades

  • Complete ATSC Mobile DTV upgrades

  • Field service to troubleshoot technical issues

  • IOT replacement and tuning

  • Evaluation and repair of equipment

  • Preventive Maintenance programs for transmitters

The staff of Acrodyne Technical Services, all former Ai employees, offers a combined total of over 150 years experience in the design, manufacture, installation and support of all types of TV transmitter, and is headed by Andy Whiteside, formerly of Acrodyne Industries, Thomcast, Comark and EEV.
