Mobile DTV
The engineers of Acrodyne Services have been involved in ATSC Mobile DTV since 2008, having planned and managed numerous live demonstrations of the new service throughout the country, drawing together and integrating equipment from major industry leaders, such as Rohde & Schwarz, Harmonic and Triveni Digital, to name a few. We provided integration services to OMVC for CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2010 and 2011, CTIA - The Wireless Association - in 2010, several NAB Show events and the WCS (Washington Consumer Showcase). One of our main objectives has been to evaluate similar equipment from multiple suppliers to test for interoperability. We firmly believe that the broadcast customer will be better served if there is a broad selection of equipment available for Mobile DTV upgrades, to account for existing hardware preferences and to allow customers to choose “best in class” solutions.
Most recently, the company sold and installed two Mobile DTV upgrades for WSYX-TV and WTTE-TV in Columbus, OH (view press release here) and expects to provide more such systems as broadcasters implement the new service. These two systems included a monitoring package featuring the decontis atscSAM software products integrated into a hardware platform provided by Acrodyne Services. The two companies have entered into a Distribution Agreement to offer this integrated monitoring solution to the American market (view press release here).
